Job Summary

A Pharmacy Logistics Technician is responsible for the completion of routine tasks including medication delivery, medication expiration date inspections, receiving, medication stock replenishment, cleaning, and retail pharmacy tasks.

Job Responsibilities

  1. Medication Delivery
    • Perform Batch and Off Batch Production Run Delivery
    • Perform a Batch Production Run Delivery with Medication Cassettes
    • Meds to Beds Delivery from Retail Pharmacy
  2. Medication Expiration Date Inspection
    • Conduct a Medication Expiration Date Inspection in the Pharmacy Department, Nursing Units, and Ambulatory Care Site
  3. Receiver/Medication Replenishment
    • Receipt of purchased medications from Manufacturer and Wholesaler
    • Replenishment of medications and supplies to the pharmacy medication storage shelves, Pyxis MedStation® ES, and surgical centers
    • Retrieval of medication from Medication Storage Locations during a Pharmaceutical Recall
    • Investigate and correct Pyxis MedStation® ES malfunctions
  4. Cleaning
    • Perform cleaning of medication storage shelves, bins, refrigerators, and Pyxis MedStations
  5. Retail Pharmacy
    • Receiver
    • Register/Cashier
    • Patient Triage
    • Answer Phone calls

Preferred

  • Certification: Certified Pharmacy Technician (CPhT) issued by the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) or National Association for Health Professionals (NAHP)
  • Education: Completed BA
  • Experience: Inpatient Hospital Experience as a pharmacy logistics technician (minimum 3 years), High Volume Retail

Mandatory

  • Education: HSD/GED
  • Preferred Experience: Hospital Pharmacy - 1 year

Pharmacy Logistics Technician Shifts Breakdown

  • Shifts:
    • FT IV Morning: 0700-1530 (7 AM - 3:30 PM)
    • FT IV Night: 2300-0730 (11 PM - 7:30 AM)
    • FT IV Evening: 1500-2330 (3 PM - 11:30 PM)
    • PT Rotating Weekends (morning/night)

Training is mandatory and full-time (8:30 AM - 5 PM).
